Updated Skoda Karoq: the main thing is inside and in the price tag

The virtual premiere of the updated compact crossover Skoda Karoq is scheduled for November 30, but as expected, spy shots and some assumptions regarding the upcoming restyling have leaked to the network.

Despite its modest size, according to the results of 2020 and the first half of this year, «Karok» became the best-selling Skoda model, yielding the palm only to the permanent best-seller Octavia.

In addition to the frames of the white «Karoka» in monochrome camouflage previously distributed over the network, new images have become available. Literally on the day of Skoda’s official announcement of the presentation at the end of November, the Spanish magazine Motor.es published a couple of frames from the crossover photo shoot. From the photographs it follows that the facelift will be so insignificant (if any) that only a very attentive observer will be able to distinguish the dorest from the novelty.

At the same time, the Spaniards are reporting small changes in the cabin — such as a new steering wheel, head unit and changed trim materials. Probably the main news known today about the Karoq 2022 model year — in top-end versions, the car will receive matrix LED headlights, following the example of the «big brother» Kodiaq.

Oh yes. The pictures still show the new rims and the Phoenix color borrowed from the fresh Fabia. This is probably all there is to know about the car for now.

In Russia, the Skoda Karoq is now offered with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter and supercharged 1.4-liter unit. Their power is 110 and 150 hp, respectively. But there are already four gearboxes: these are 5-speed «mechanics», 2 types of robotic DSG gearboxes (6 and 7 steps) and an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The buyer can choose front or all-wheel drive, but the latter will be available only in a bundle 1.4 TSI + DSG 7. The starting price (formally) is 1,641,000 rubles.
